Question: Can i throw the bio balls inside the tank water?
Answer: You can put our bio balls inside of a tank and beneficial bacteria will grow on them. Typically you want to place the bio balls in a chamber or bag after a filter pad. The filter pad will trap most of the free floating debris before getting to the bio balls.
Question: Cubic feet in the 300 count?
Answer: 300 Bio Balls will fill approximately 0.4 cubic feet.
Question: How often do I need to clean the bag of balls? I have been just rinsing the bag off with the balls inside every couple of weeks.
Answer: Most filtration systems have the water flow through a filter pad to remove most of the larger debris before water flows to the bio balls. With this type of system the bio balls remain fairly clean therefore they do not need to be rinsed or only need rinsing a few times a year.
Question: Do the balls float? It is very important to know for my application
Answer: Yes they will float by them selves but if you put enough they will fill up any space
