Vane impingement mist eliminators are widely used to separate entrained liquid droplets from gas in which in the droplets are 10μm or larger. Many manufactures claim 100% removal of entrained droplets 10μm or larger in size and a guaranteee of entrainment not to exceed 0.1gal/MMscf is often common.

Product Description
Vane impingement mist eliminators are widely used to separate entrained liquid droplets from gas in which in the droplets are 10μm or larger. Many manufactures claim 100% removal of entrained droplets 10μm or larger in size and a guaranteee of entrainment not to exceed 0.1gal/MMscf is often common.
The efficiency of these units decreases rapidly with the presence of particle sizes lower than 10μm. although vane impingement is a better choice than wire mesh mist eliminators in the presence of solid particles, the efficiency of the former is also reduced substantially when small solid particles are encountered in the absence of a liquid. Unlike wire mesh units, liquid drainage in the vane mist eliminators occurs outside the gas flow, thereby eliminating reentrainment of the liquid. Also the drawing takes place at a right angle to the directions of gas flow through the separator.
Compared to mesh demisters Vane Impingement Mist Eliminators offer the following advantages :
1. Higher capacity: Blades with a smooth profile will give 30% more capacity than a mesh Demister
2. Blades with hooks will give 100% more capacity than a mesh demister
3. Higher liquid loading
4. Less risk of fouling
5. Lower pressure drop
6. Longer lasting in service
7. Suitable for foaming systems
8. Suitable for high liquid viscosity systems
9. Stronger construction
